Introduction to Anarchist Communism 2: a history of its development, spread, and impact on today
Wednesday, May 7th at 7pm
This is the second in this online educational series run by the Anarchist Communist Group, looking at the development of anarchist communism in theory and practice.
Ideas about equality and freedom have always existed since the emergence of hierarchical class societies and anarchist and communist ideas emerged with both the English and the French Revolutions. It was not until the emergence of the working class in the 19th century and the creation of its first international organisation, the IWMA, that anarchist communism fully emerged. We chart its evolution, how it spread to many areas of the world and became an important influence.
