Meanwhile 20 per cent of the UK population is living in poverty according to the UK Poverty 2025 Report published by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation; 123,100 households are living in temporary accommodation in England, 6,447 in Wales, and 16,330 in Scotland. 9,079 people were sleeping rough in England last September, an increase of 8% from the previous year.
